There is some tools that you can get ip sharing host. I know one it is not free. But this is free! http://www.myipneighbors.com/ Great! Most of servers server 300 hosts on server. Actually we share the same server and the IP. But my actual opinion about SEO, That doest affect. They dont want, because some of people can get high ranks with this cheat. And then most people want theirs on dedicated ip's. This can be real problem for all sites. They don't want to shake the internet.

You make a good point David. Most ISP's/hosting providers charge very little for a dedicated IP address. Having the insurance is nice for any major site, especially e-commerce that could garner significant business/traffic. If you're hosting those sites on shared server, you never know what other sites could be on that same shared IP address and the insurance is nice to have. Having a dedicated IP address is never a bad idea. A big mistake I see/hear is just that people think they need to have a dedicated IP address to get into the search engines, which isn't true.

My hosting company charges $24 a year for a unique ip address. If your site is ecommerce, $24 is cheap insurance just in case using a shared ip "MAY" cause a problem.
