Why blog?

So you may be asking yourself “Why would a web design company have a blog?” The answer is simple…Why Not? Ok, so maybe it’s a little more complex than that. But the bottom line is, used properly blogs can be very useful resources for sharing information. The reason I say “used properly” is because when I say “blog” what’s the first thing that comes to mind? MySpace? I would bet that the majority of you are shaking your heads, or at least agreeing with me. To be honest, before I really started to pay any sort of attention to blogs, that was the first thing that would come to my mind. If you want to analyze it, there are much deeper reasons behind blogging instead of simply “why not?” but I won’t go into those because frankly you wouldn’t, and probably won’t, want to sit here and read all of it.

So now that we’ve answered “Why blog?” we can move on to “Why on a web design site?” To quote Ryan Phillipe in the movie Antitrust “Human knowledge belongs to the world.” So maybe I’m not quite taking it to the degree that it was taken to in the movie, because if I were, I’d be out of business.

The point is, I believe in helping others. Maybe you’re a web designer yourself, or are at least working on a website and are having a problem with your code. Maybe you’d like to know how to do something. While this is not a discussion board/forum, there are plenty of those out there for specifically this purpose (I recommend the webmasterworld.com forums, I will post tips and tricks that I have learned for HTML, CSS, PHP, SQL/MySQL, SEO, and more. If you would like to see a blog topic discussed, please feel free to suggest a topic.

So, in closing, this blog will be used primarily as a way to assist other web designers/webmasters with their websites, provide tips, tricks, and hints regarding web design, to convey general web design industry news and other articles, and more. Basically, it’s all about web design, if you didn’t gather that already. There may be an occasional off-topic post where maybe I just feel like talking about something random or non web design related.
